You may feel you no longer have all the answers. You’ve exhausted all the options for your business and/or have gone as far as you can. Maybe you’ve been putting one foot in front of the other for so long that your freelance career has gotten away from you. Or maybe you had a great hand, but then something came along and blew all your cards away.
Whatever it is, you don’t have to feel the vacant whistle of the wind where your confidence used to be.
When it comes to your career or freelance business, I can help.
We can work together to:
It’s about translating your current situation into an opportunity for growth and change.
It’s time to overcome the specific issues you have communicating with clients, business partners, peers or yourself. We’ll flip that internal narrative that says you’re too cool, daggy or different to put your talents centre stage. My aim is to dig in, find that knotted muscle that’s holding you rigid and in pain, and bring sweet, sweet relief.
* Important note: While I have specific training in crisis support, mental health first aid, suicide intervention and am studying counselling, I am not a licensed counsellor or psychologist. If I believe the issues we’re discussing are beyond my capability I may direct you to mental health and medical services.
I resisted calling myself a business coach for five years because of the claims and mythology that permeate the field. These coaches usually offer only short fixes and don’t serve you in business or meet the needs of people like you with real problems.
So, here’s what I think about it all, which may help you decide whether I’m the right business coach for you.
I attended a marketing workshop Bek ran which was tailored specifically to End Of Life Doulas and our needs. This was a brilliant day, Bek is a knowledgeable, lively, funny, and extraordinarily well-informed trainer. I myself am a professional writer, and I lost count of the number of new skills, ideas, and tools I took away from the workshop to better present myself as an End Of Life practitioner.
Bek is responsive to questions as well as the personal context of the individual asking the question, and Bek did not hesitate to request further information or ask for clarification before responding, ensuring all information was fine-tuned specifically for each participant. I recommend attending any of Bek’s workshops if you are able to and look forward to her next round of relevant training as I am eager to learn more.
I had a coaching call with Bek in July when I was at a bit of a crossroads with my relatively new business. I was nervous about making the big commitment to my business and needed some external input. Straight away, Bek go to the heart of the matter and really helped me see what questions I needed to focus on, and she gave me some much-needed perspective. I didn’t write a testimonial for her coaching service right away as I wanted to see where I was a month later. I honestly think about her advice and guidance every day, and I found the call totally invaluable to the growth of my business. I’m so glad I arranged to have a coaching call and have re-ignited my passion and focus for my business. Thanks so much Bek.
I’m taking a new job. I’ll be running all their digital programs and setting up a maker space. This is pretty much what I wanted to do. Thank you for your help. Our conversation is one of the things that made me convinced taking this job would be a good thing.
I sought help from Unashamedly Creative’s Marketing Pain Point Clinic, for advice on ways to market my services that are true to me. Rebekah nailed my major ‘pain point’ within the first 2 minutes of the call! She filled the hour with useful tips on how to improve my positioning, redefine my target market and get the word out to them. Like a gift that keeps on giving, I’m still working through her suggestions, which I’m sure will keep me busy for many months – and inspire me to create my own marketing style. Thanks so much, Bek!
I have huge respect for the work Bek Lambert does within the freelance community. She not only has wide experience in all facets of marketing, writing and running a successful solo business, but she shares her knowledge and insights with straight-talking respect and kindness.
So, when I realised I needed some one-on-one expertise and a fresh perspective to help me direct my own marketing efforts as a freelancer, Bek, from Unashamedly Creative was my obvious choice. Bek helped me enormously. She helped cut through the waffle that was holding me back and offered some clear, easy to-dos to help me focus on the direction that would work best for my business. And that’s the thing. Bek takes the time to get to know you and what you want to achieve – she doesn’t throw a heap of irrelevant buzz words at you and simply say ‘There you go’! Instead, she listens, guides and prompts you to think in a warm and approachable way and you come away from a single hour with her with a feeling of direction and action.
I recently attended a Doula marketing day in Brisbane with Rebekah. It’s been pretty hectic since and I have only just found the time to thoroughly check out the resources she provided after the course. WOW!! An absolutely amazing amount of support resources, copies of the slides from the day to refer back to, and links to all sorts of wonderful things. The day was awesome, and this information will undoubtedly be absolutely invaluable. Thanks heaps Rebekah.
After faffing about for years about the direction I should take my business, Rebekah gave me all the tools and advice I needed to move forward. She made me realise I need to trust my gut and have faith in my own abilities. I highly recommend her one-to-one coaching session. Thanks loads, Rebekah!
I’ve been freelancing for just over a year, and I’d hit a rut where I wasn’t sure how to market myself or gain new clients. Bek was able to look at the problems differently and offer me some simple, practical ways forward. Her emphasis on authenticity in business was refreshing and did a lot to boost my confidence. I’m now feeling much more supported and enthusiastic about my business and am already starting to see greater engagement with potential clients.
I was lost then I was found! I faced a sliding doors moment in my freelance copywriting business. I was busy but it wasn’t the kind of work or clients I really wanted. I knew I needed to rebrand and had plenty of ideas but didn’t know where to start and had been stuffing around for months. In just one hour, Bek Lambert gave me the clarity I needed, told me what to do (and what not) and prioritised my action list. She even put me in touch with some great design professionals to help with my rebranding. Definitely a worthwhile investment and I’d recommend Bek to any established operator or start-up business looking for practical, non-nonsense advice.
I was in desperate need of some freelance coaching, someone to set me straight, someone to listen to my woes and give me a prod in the right direction. Sometimes you just need a serious (but gentle) kick up the bum – and that’s where Bek comes in Bek provides the perfect combination of straightforward, no nonsense honesty, combined with reassuring, huggy wuggy warmth. Like a sledgehammer wrapped in cotton wool. After just one hour I felt clearer, more positive and like someone had my back. The freelance life can be a lonely one – but with Bek on my side, I feel I have the guidance I need to make better, more confident choices. THANK YOU!
Regardless of your field, going freelance is scary business. I had a thousand questions I was too self-conscious to ask anyone and was stuck firmly in the realm of overwhelm. Rebekah’s coaching was precisely the lifeline I needed, and helped me reassess what I considered my weaknesses, as well as recognise my strengths. Without her help, I would still be focusing on the impossibility of things rather than getting on with doing $h!t.
Bek has been my business coach for over two years. During this time, she has helped me develop my mission, put things into perspective when I haven’t been able to see the forest for the trees, and keep going when I have otherwise felt like giving up. Not to mention she has provided the sanity I’ve needed when dealing with stresses in my private life. My vision has grown immensely since I started working with Bek and she is a much-appreciated business asset and friend. She isn’t afraid to tell it like it is, which can be hard to find…particularly for someone as stubborn as me! Thanks, Bek. To infinity and beyond! 🙂 xoxo
